My Equine Experience
I have owned horses since 1989 and since 1999, I have kept my horses at my home. I have shared my life with 17 horses over those years. I have had the pleasure of having two mare foal and seeing one foal from Day one. I have cared for five senior horses. My practice with horses has mainly been for pleasure. I have always valued the relationship more than the goal when dealing with my horse friends.
I have worked as a horse keeper for 3 years and a basic level riding instructor for 4 years at "Les Écuries du Sablé". My job included feeding and watering, stable cleaning, administration of medication when needed, turn outs. I groomed for shows and assisted with horse care at competitions throughout Quebec and Ontario. I thought basic riding to individuals and to groups. Over the years of horse ownership, I have trained and supervised a student who has completed her school COOP placement at my farm. I ran an introduction to horsemanship program (8 Weeks) to 2 groups of 6 disadvantaged children.
