Buddy came into my life in 1999. After finishing university and starting to work as a social worker, I was finally ready to get a horse again. My husband and I had bought a small farm in Chesterville, Ontario. I still remember the day I met him for the first time, he was standing in the barn aisle, maybe 100 feet away from me, he was looking up at me straight like nothing else existed between us at first sight. The energy between us was palpable. He looked and felt so familiar to me from the very beginning. He was a part of so many major life events. He was there through my two pregnancies, many jobs and five moves. Buddy and I were a team and we did so many things. He was always so willing and trustworthy. We did a few wagon trains, parades, swims in the river and tons of hacking.
I learned about natural horsemanship with Buddy and it helped but I still had not understood the concept of less pressure can bring you more softness, He forgave me and put up with my antics. He was so tolerant and patient with me.
He touched the lives of so many people with his gentleness. He was a beautiful soul and I was so lucky to be able to share 18 years with him. Buddy passed away January 29th 2018 at the age of 23
